Food and Nutrition Security for Manitoba Youth: The FANS Study
Creating a knowledge base of youth dietary habits and food security to support the development of nutrition policy and programming in Manitoba

The Food and Nutrition Security for Manitoba Youth (FANS) Study represents some of the most comprehensive research on adolescent nutritional health and food security conducted in Manitoba.
The FANS study is led by Dr. Joyce Slater and Dr. Alan Katz at the University of Manitoba. It is our intent that the FANS study results be used as a knowledge base of youth food security and dietary habits to support the development of nutrition policy and programming in Manitoba. Below you will find research outputs from the FANS Study that can be used to advocate for resources to support child nutrition, and plan and evaluate programs. As we continue to analyze the FANS data, more outputs will be posted here on FANLit.
